GALENIKA AT THE “WOMEN’S HEALTH IN SERBIA” CONFERENCE: BREAST CANCER PREVENTION IN FOCUS

Breast cancer prevention and the importance of regular preventive screenings were among the key topics discussed at the “Women’s Health in Serbia” conference, held on October 13 in Belgrade, with the support of Galenika.
During the panel discussion “Prevention Starts with Self-Care – From Breast Screenings to Healthy Lifestyle Habits,” healthcare professionals and Galenika representatives discussed risk factors, the importance of healthy lifestyle habits, and the psychological barriers that often lead women to postpone preventive screenings.
Prevention and Understanding Risk Factors
One of the topics addressed during the panel was obesity as a chronic disease associated with an increased risk of developing certain types of cancer, including breast cancer after menopause.
“It is important to take a comprehensive approach when discussing prevention. In addition to regular screenings and early detection, we need to understand the risk factors, including obesity. Our goal is to contribute to a better understanding of this health issue through therapeutic solutions and education,”
said Jelena Mačković, Rx Marketing Director at Galenika.

In 2026, Galenika introduced a modern treatment for obesity to the Serbian market, further expanding its portfolio of therapeutic solutions.
Pink October: Breast Cancer Prevention and the Importance of Regular Screenings
Galenika’s participation in the conference builds on its Pantenol Pink October campaign, now in its seventh consecutive year, raising awareness of the importance of preventive screenings and early breast cancer detection.
This year’s campaign message, “You Care for What You See. Check What You Can’t See.”, encourages women to make taking care of their health part of their everyday routines.
