GALENIKA PUBLISHES ITS FIRST SUSTAINABILITY REPORT ALIGNED WITH THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE GUIDELINES AND ESRS
Belgrade, August 25, 2026 – At a reception held at the Residence of the Embassy of Brazil, Galenika presented its first Sustainability Report for 2025, prepared in accordance with the Guidelines of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia on Non-Financial Reporting, with reference to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The event was attended by representatives of government ministries, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Brazil-Serbia Chamber of Commerce, professional associations, the non-governmental sector, and business partners.
The event was hosted by Her Excellency Maria Clara de Abreu Rada, Ambassador of Brazil to the Republic of Serbia, who welcomed the guests and highlighted Galenika’s importance as one of the most prominent examples of economic cooperation between Brazil and Serbia.
Galenika’s General Manager, Ricardo Vian Marques, stated: “The publication of our first Sustainability Report marks an important milestone for Galenika and is the result of a process we began two years ago. We have laid the foundations for a systematic approach to sustainability that connects our ESG priorities with our business strategy and corporate governance. This Report marks the beginning of a continuous process and provides a foundation for further advancing our approach to sustainability and ESG reporting.”
Galenika, which is celebrating 81 years of operations this year and is positioned as one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the market, is taking an important step in the further development of its business with the publication of this Report. The Report brings together information on impacts, risks, and opportunities relevant to the company’s operations and provides a foundation for the further advancement of ESG governance and reporting.
“We have laid important foundations for a systematic approach to sustainability. We defined our approach to ESG governance, adopted a Sustainability Framework, established a Sustainability Committee, and, through the double materiality assessment process, identified 18 material topics that are key to Galenika’s business and its impacts on society and the environment,” said Tijana Marković, Head of Corporate Communications.
Galenika will continue to advance the integration of sustainability into its business operations, as well as the quality and transparency of ESG reporting, in line with evolving regulatory requirements and European standards.
