Galenika Encourages Breast Cancer Awareness Again This Year

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BREASTS YOU’LL SEE TODAY ARE THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN EXAMINED

Belgrade, October 1, 2024 – The mission of Galenika and its Pantenol brand continues to support the fight against breast cancer this year. Throughout October, the month dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer, Galenika is once again actively supporting and implementing a charitable campaign for a healthcare institution in Serbia: 3% of the value of each product purchased from Galenika’s Pantenol portfolio during October will be donated to this humanitarian initiative.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed every October under the name Pink October, when people around the world wear the pink ribbon to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and routine screening for early breast cancer diagnosis. According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer is the second most common cancer worldwide for both genders, and for women, it is by far the most dominant cancer, affecting nearly a quarter of the female population (23.8%).

“For the fifth consecutive year, Galenika is carrying out a socially responsible project dedicated to the fight against breast cancer, through donations to healthcare institutions and a campaign aimed at raising awareness about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis for successful treatment. Pantenol Pink October is important because it informs, encourages the community, and fosters unity in the fight against this disease. Global statistics show that early diagnosis, and thus the cure rate, depends on the level of awareness. This is a battle we can win together. This year, the funds from our donation will be directed to a regionally important institution, the Kladovo Health Center, as support to its Oncology Department in assisting patients from Eastern and Southeastern Serbia,” said Rikardo Vian Markes, CEO of Galenika.

Promoting breast health is proven to be essential for successful treatment because it involves education and encouragement for regular self-exams and doctor visits, early detection, and diagnosis, all of which contribute to effective treatment. The message we are sending is: Share – Remind – Check. And throughout October, every customer purchasing a product from Galenika’s Pantenol portfolio contributes to the donation and the improvement of oncology treatment conditions at the Kladovo Health Center, whether they buy Galenika’s Pantenol Cream, Pantenol + B3HA Cream Gel, Mask, Ointment, Lotion, Solution, Spray, Easy Skin, Oriblet, or Foam.

In addition to annual doctor visits, it is recommended to perform a self-examination at home once a month. It only takes a few minutes, but it’s incredibly important. It consists of a set of prescribed palpatory steps that anyone can and should regularly perform. Through our collective efforts, we inform, remind, and adopt habits and behaviors that help in the fight against breast cancer. Therefore: #ShareRemindCheck.
